The President continues to publicly insult and denigrate outstanding Guyanese of high professional rectitude and who have made sterling contributions in various endeavors to this country and its people.
In the latest edition of ‘The Public Interest’, the President callously remarked that even a ‘blind man’ would have seen that the second set of names submitted to him for the appointment of a Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), did not meet the ‘criteria laid down.’ Continue reading PRESS STATEMENT: WHAT QUALIFIES DAVID GRANGER OVER AND ABOVE ANY OF THE TWELVE NAMES SUBMITTED?

I wish to respond to a statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, bearing the caption: “OPM refutes Nandlall’s lies – calls on sugar workers not to fall prey to attempts to incite.”
This statement is in response to last week’s ‘The Unruly Horse’. The thrust of the statement was to paint my article as a litany of lies. It is the classic artwork of the Prime Minister. I am familiar with his craft, having known him for several years. The truth is my article comprised of a compendium of undisputed publicly ventilated matters relating to the sugar industry. Indeed, I can produce, for public objective verification, a source for every argumentation adumbrated in that article. Continue reading OP ED: Nagamania

My attention was drawn to two fliers, advertising and inviting the public to two events, which will take place over the weekend in the United States of America, and which may be of interest to the Guyanese taxpayers. The first event is scheduled to take place on June 10th 2017, at 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Zen Lounge 117-15101 Avenue, Richmond Hill, New York. According to the flier, this event is organised by an entity known as “Bridge the Gap Intercontinental Inc.”, in collaboration with Zen Lounge. The event is described by the flier as, “Health and Human Services Tea Forum – Meet & Greet – Connecting & Collaborating across Boarders.” The flier indicates the “keynote Speakers” to be (verbatim): Continue reading Op Ed: A weekend at the Zen and the Ranches

I am both puzzled and appalled at the firing of Dr. Rupert Roopnarine and the reasons given. The spin is that Dr. Roopnarine has not been fired and that his ouster from Education is simply a Cabinet reshuffle in which he has assumed other responsibilities. This is simply kerfuffling and insulting the Guyanese people. Continue reading OP ED: TOTAL DISRESPECT, A SLAP IN THE FACE OF THE WPA AND ANOTHER DAGGER INTO THE HEART OF RODNEY

The letter received by the Leader of the Opposition from President Granger wherein Granger rejected the second list of persons from which a Chairperson of the Guyana Elections Commission, not unacceptable to the President, shall be appointed (once a list is submitted by the Leader of the Opposition) concludes with the following, “I have examined the Curricula Vitae of the six persons in light of the criteria defined in my letter to you dated 2017.03.14.
